Our 16 Fundamental Truths
As members of the Assemblies of God we adhere to the following doctrinal statements:
WE BELIEVE . . . the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired by God and declare His design and plan for all people.
WE BELIEVE . . . in one true God revealed in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity).
WE BELIEVE . . . in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, who has been revealed as God’s Son through both His human and divine natures.
WE BELIEVE . . . men and women were created innocent and good, but that sin entered our race by way of willful transgression.
WE BELIEVE . . . every person can be restored to fellowship with God through salvation, which occurs by accepting Christ’s offer of grace for the forgiveness of sin.
WE BELIEVE . . . in two ordinances of the church: (1) Water Baptism by immersion following repentance and, (2) Holy Communion as a symbolic, regular remembrance of Christ’s suffering and death for our salvation and atonement.
WE BELIEVE . . . all believers are sealed by the Holy Spirit at salvation, but that there is a second of grace thereafter for witness and ministry.
WE BELIEVE…the baptism of believers in the Holy Spirit is witnessed by numerous signs, including the historic initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues.
WE BELIEVE . . . sanctification initially occurs at salvation, but that it is also a life-long process.
WE BELIEVE . . . the mission of the church is to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and, thereby, to evangelize the world and edify believers.
WE BELIEVE . . . all believers are called and enabled by God through their spiritual gifts to serve the world.
WE BELIEVE . . . that divine healing and deliverance are made available by way of Christ’s atonement.
WE BELIEVE . . . in the return of Jesus Christ for His Church, both for believers who are living and dead.
WE BELIEVE . . . in the millennial reign of Jesus Christ when He will usher in a kingdom of universal peace.
WE BELIEVE . . . that all people will stand before God to give an account on Judgment Day with heaven and hell being final destinations, based upon God’s grace rather than human works.
WE BELIEVE . . . in a new heaven and a new earth wherein God will reign eternally.
